Fat Burning Exercises

When it comes to losing weight, it is not enough to reduce one’s caloric intake. By combining healthy eating with regular exercise, it will be easier for you to reach your weight loss goals. If want to burn fat, you need to increase your heart rate.

Low-Intensity Cardio Exercises

Do include some low-intensity cardio exercises in your routine. The following exercises can be performed for up to one hour at a time. By adding this type of activity to your lifestyle, you will burn fat with a lower risk of injuring your joints.

Please consider the options listed below:

  1. Walking - This low-intensity workout has the advantages of being simple and inexpensive. A brisk, 30-minute walk will burn up to 180 calories. To increase the amount of calories burned, try walking up hills or down an incline.
  2. Running - A good pair of running shoes is all someone needs to start running. If a person weighing 145 pounds were to run for 30 minutes, he or she could burn up to 300 calories.
  3. Rowing - Rowing, either by using a machine or getting out on the water, is also a good fat-burning choice. 300 calories can be burned in approximately 30 minutes.
  4. Cycling - Cycling is also a good choice if one wants to burn fat. You can choose to use a stationary bike or to go outside. Spend 30 minutes on a bike and burn between 250-500 calories.
  5. Rock Climbing - More adventurous individuals may like to try rock climbing. In addition to a great cardio workout, you can increase your arm and leg strength. A 30-minute session will burn up to 380 calories.

High-Intensity Cardio Exercises

High-intensity cardio exercises are generally performed for a period of between 20-30 minutes. The advantage of including this type of fat-burning exercise is that it burns a lot of calories, but it also increases the person’s metabolism for the rest of the day. If you would like to include high-intensity cardio exercises in your routine, here are some examples:

  1. Sprinting - If you like running, do include sprinting as part of your workout routine. Not only will you burn calories at the time, you will also give your metabolism a boost that can last for several days.
  2. Spinning - Enroll in a spin class and enjoy the benefits of cycling in a group setting. You will navigate hills, valleys and different rates of speed while on a stationary bike. Participants listen to music and get the guidance of a qualified instructor as well.
  3. Jumping Rope - This simple form of exercise is a very effective option for burning fat. By jumping rope for 20-30 minutes, you will get the benefits of a full body workout. Not only will you increase your endurance, but you will improve your eye-hand co-ordination, agility and hand and foot speed.

If you want to burn fat, you need to get your heart beating faster. There are a number of exercises you can participate in to boost your heart rate. By choosing to participate in a variety of activities, it is much less likely that you will become bored with your fitness routine.
